Simply Me

I have been procrastinating on writing this first blog because I didn't have anything profound to say. Then I started thinking, that may take a while, and I decided to begin. Since I'm not trying to sell anything and not too worried if people will like it, I will just be me. By that I mean, I want to treat this like a sort of journal which is what blogs used to be about anyway. Don't get me wrong, if there is a cause or a product I believe in, I will definitely promote and if someone ever wanted to pay me to do it, you bet I'd cash the check! It's just not my initial motive here. So to my ten faithful friends who will read this and support me, I thank you.

That said, I recently finished a 21 day prayer challenge with my church, Lifesong that Changed my life! It started with the book The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson. Let me backup, this spring I began reading The Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer which sort of prepped my mind to be blown, and Out of the Spin Cycle by Jen Hatmaker a glorious mommy devotional. Everything has changed, the way I view a problem, the way I pray, my attitude and stress level in general are better. So, I am now on a mission of self improvement and getting my life to where God wants me to be. I have also just finished Interrupted and am currently reading 7 all by Jen. Her books have definitely been my favorite. Not only because she really hits home with me as a mom and woman, but also because she reminds me of my dear friend Hannah. They should be best friends and let me hang out with them!

So here goes folks, let's see how long this lasts...In other news I plan on making jalapeno zucchini jelly later this week, all fresh from our garden. My mouth is watering thinking about it, I will have to send some to my BIL Chris in Texas.
Love, B

  2. I am not interested in profound. I am interested in real and you are real. Thank you for taking this leap and I am looking forward to your future posts.
